The hot and upbeat Rio de Janeiro Nightlife
is what we like to call "a treat for the senses". The “Noite Carioca”, as
Brazilians refer to it, has a lot of fun to offer regardless of age, energy
or taste. From rave parties on the top of the Sugar Loaf to premium ice
cream parlors catering to every single taste. You can choose from chic restaurants to
simple bars which serve excellent appetizers.
Below are some suggestions you will certainly enjoy when visiting Rio and
reveling in Rio de Janeiro Nightlife. We did!
Bars and Ice Cream
Parlors
Rio Scenarium – Casual chic, this is a
great bar to taste some typical appetizers. Try caldinho de feijão (beans
soup), pastéis (fried pastry), bolinhas de queijo (cheese balls) and other
delicacies. Besides the great food there is the nice, sophisticated
atmosphere. The place used to be an antique shop and is decorated with
antique furniture. Good live Brazilian music makes this
charming bar a great place for a beer or a Capirinha. Rua do Lavradio, 20,
Centro Antigo (near Praça Tiradentes). Phones: (21) 3147-9005, (21)

Sorveteria Mil Frutas – Ice cream
lovers, this place is paradise! They make their own ice cream, some160 exotic flavors, from typical Brazilian fruits to white chocolate with
pepper. For the summer, they put together some treats: queijo com goiabada
(cheese and a Brazilian type of guava jelly) and cachaça* mosaic among
others. In the scorching heat of Carioca’s summer, Mil Frutas is a kind of
oasis. They are pricey but you are on vacation, right? Rua Garcia

Cervantes – THE sandwich place. And we
mean delicious sandwiches. We loved it! We tried the most popular
ones: the Cervantes sandwich (with beef, cheese and pineapple) and one
with pork and pineapple. A must go and eat. Av. Prado Junior 335 B,
Copacabana.
Belmonte – The appetizers are to die
for. And the Chopp (tap beer) is excellent. Try one the high quality
cachaça from Minas Gerais, which are the best. Very nicely priced, so this
is an affordable and mouth-watering choice. Three addresses: Praia do Flamengo,
